Lack of updates on excitris.com

I’ve been quite tired to post news there as science and technology are less interesting to me these day. They are going back on the oldies which is fine but not good when you’re looking for new stuff.

I just read somewhere that nanocarbon was being scientifically tested by the UK government because it has been report has toxic. Any product currently using nanocarbon tubes or any derivate technology of it has to show to the government how it’s being used in their devices.

On another note, many of you tech-geek have heard of Origami… What was that? Some way to make some more money? Come on, don’t tell me that it’s a new technology, or something people should have waited for 2-3 months with only “previews”. Damn, this machine sucks. Anyone could of got a tablet pc and would be as much if not more happy with it. I wonder who thought about inventing that. Ok, I’ll stop right here as I feel the happiness coming in.

I’ll be looking for people interested in publishing a daily tech/science news on my blog. I might give some kind of reward, but I have no idea yet. I’m sure some of my geek friends will enjoy doing it, so why not?

As I’m talking about this, would anyone be interested in posting a “daily funnay” on Humour & Lifestyle?

NodeUltra.com updates

I decided I would work back on my directory. I’ve just added over 15 000 links in the Internet directory which is a great addition to the currently available list. I think the links that were added are valuable as they come directly from Dmoz.org, the well-known web directory.

Node Ultra does his best to provide users useful links and as the database growth, provide to the webmaster a wide range of visitors directly to their website. If you have any website you’d like to submit for Search Engine spidering, Node Ultra is the directory to submit to. We are regularly crawled by Google, Yahoo!, MSN and many more. It doesn’t take much time for what it’s worth.

Thanks you for your submissions, they are greatly appreciated.

My current websites and their future

As I am managing different websites with different topics, I have to make sure they are going in the right direction. I recently bought domain names and a hosting package though I didn’t had the time to take care of my websites. Since I’m about to finish my second semester in college, I will have enough time to complete and think about what my websites will become. Here’s a list of what’s currently to do:

Complete DJZAREK.com
AHH, my DJ website. I haven’t touched this for almost half a year. I’ve been on version 1 for ages and version 2 is currently in temporary mode. I’m thinking about changing the layout just a bit (mostly the top image) and then I’ll be writing all the script to let this website run by itself. I’ll have to make an admin panel just to make sure I can control my website without having to touch a bit of mysql by going in the database. This is my first priority, though it might not be done the first because other tasks might take less time (there’s a lot of work involved here).

Finalize NODEULTRA.com concept/idea/goal/etc
NODEULTRA.com is somehow an error of my own. I thought that if I made some cool directory, I could get a lot of listing and more and more people joining but I only got a bunch of registration at the beginning with nothing else later on. True, I never really took the time to ask people to register after the launch, maybe I’ll give it a try when I have time, if the results are great, it’ll stay what it is, otherwise, it might become something related to business.

Redefine ZAREKBB.com content/goal

ZAREKBB.com was first a forum about games, computer, science, humour but it has been joined by friends of mine.
When I got my hosting, I decided I would like to talk about psychology and personal development, growth, self-development… I don’t know if this domain is really interesting to anyone, but in my opinion, everyone should. If you can get some great advice to use later on, why not?
I haven’t yet “advertised” the forum but I think it would be great to have a big community where you can get tricks from others, especially in the personal development field (money, social, intellectual, etc)

Redesign TOMROCHETTE.com
My main website has been written quite fast without really giving it any attention because I knew not many people would come. A new design will help it get recognized and some good content should soon be available there.
I’m not sure yet if this will be a portfolio or something else related to me, but it sure will be about me.

Bump online people threads to the top

Have you ever been on a forum waiting for people to reply to your threads? Do you find it frustrating to have to bump your own threads so you can get the response you’re looking for? If yes, then you might want to look at this concept idea:

When you are online, varying from 5-10 of your “latest” post would be bumped to the top automatically as your are online. This would increase the chances of getting a reply to your messages. As well all know though, forums are being browsed by thousand of people so bumping all those threads all at once would be useless & cpu consuming that’s why instead of bumping all of our threads, we would be able to bump 5 chosen thread each time we are online.

Doing so will help your own forum to grow as members who are online longer have better chances of getting replies and then to reply so more posts. The problem with current forums is that threads which aren’t always done end up not being answered. Why not make sure all threads are getting the reply they should get? When a user is satisfied with the answer, he can remove the thread from his list => yes, this means we could ask for others people thread to get replied to.

Yet, this is only an idea. I’m sure that forums such as vBulletin and Invision Power Board will find this thread and will add it to their next release as people are avid of answers. By giving them a better opportunity to get their answer, community grows, people are happy, everyone’s happy :)
